Oregon Dog Rescue - Oregon Dog Rescue was formed by two dedicated women with a combined 12 years of rescue experience. We have been involved in rehabilitating dogs from large confiscations in Oregon and refugees from hurricane Katrina, to individual arrivals from private homes and local shelters. We are an Oregon non-profit corporation. Our organization is made up of volunteers who are dedicated to the well-being of dogs put into our care, as well as maximizing the potential for a successful adoption for every dog! We accomplish this by taking in unwanted dogs from shelters and individual owners, carefully observing the dogs in our care, and building a plan that will give the dog the tools and confidence to fit into a relationship that will benefit both dog and owner. Between 1970 and 2000, Tualatin’s population has grown over 3,000 percent, and since the year 2000 has increased nearly 11%. Tualatin’s citizens, youth, business owners, employers and other community members are the most important participants in this project. CAT Adoption Team - www.catadoptionteam.org The Cat Adoption Team (CAT) is the Pacific Northwest’s leader in feline adoption, sheltering and medicine – located right in Sherwood across from the DMV! CAT’s mission is to work with the community to save the lives of homeless, sick, and injured cats and kittens by offering shelter, adoption, foster, hospice, spay/neuter and veterinary services to end needless feline euthanasia.

CAT not only supports the community but partners with local county shelters, other humane organizations and veterinary clinics to take in cats that might otherwise be euthanized due to medical problems, age or space constraints. Between 400-600 cats and kittens receive daily care from a dedicated team of staff and volunteers at CAT’s main shelter in Sherwood, in foster homes and at various outreach locations throughout the Portland metro area. CAT’s growth –
from 750 cats adopted in 2001 to a record 3,250 adoptions in 2008 – attests not only to the community’s need for CAT’s assistance but to CAT’s outstanding foster and adoption programs. CAT’s 20,000th adoption took place on June 22, 2009.

Tualatin Rotary - Tualatin Rotary club is a part of Rotary International, with clubs in nearly every country throughout the world. Members meet for lunch each Wednesday at noon at the Tualatin Country Club.

The Tualatin Rotary Club has about 40 members dedicated to improving the community, but with a focus on youth in Tualatin, surrounding communities and throughout the world. Locally we have projects involving the Boy Scouts, dictionaries for children in the local grade schools, we clean up litter along Tualatin-Sherwood Road and provide scholarships to graduating seniors at Tualatin High School. Internationally, we sponsor an inbound and an outbound exchange student each year, we have done dental clinics Argentina and are currently involved in a project to purchase a minivan for the child care association in Roblealto, Costa Rica.

At the Tualatin Crawfish Festival, Tualatin Rotary sells cooked, chilled, whole crawfish in 1 lb. and 1/2 lb. bags. Additionally, we have Crawfish Cocktails, corn dogs, Marionberry Cobbler and soft drinks. The money we raise at this event goes primarily to our high school scholarships.
