A shuttle will be running from Old Elementary School to the Crawfish Festival continuously from 10 AM - 8:30 PM on Saturday, August 8th. Festival goers can park at the Old Elementary School. The map that follows designates all of the public parking lots for the festival. All colored lots are available, free of charge. Parking is not available within Tualatin Community Park

Description of Activities:

Craw Kids Art Show – Coloring contests will be distributed around Tualatin for kids to color and return to sponsor Umpqua Bank. The artwork will be displayed at the festival.

Tualatin Adult Co-ed Softball Tournament – Double Elimination Tournament at Tualatin Community Park. For more information click here

Friday Night Crawfish Cook-Off – Enjoy an evening of fine food, spirits, music and community. The Tualatin Crawfish Festival invites you to the 2009 Crawfish Cook-Off. Restaurants from the metropolitan area compete to create the best crawfish recipe. Festival attendees may purchase sample size entrees of the entries for $1.00 each. Restaurants will also provide their signature foods for sale as well. Wine and beer will be sold as well as an opportunity to purchase cold crawfish to take home for later.

Sponsor Reception – There will be a private reception at the lake near Tualatin Commons for the 2009 Tualatin Crawfish Festival Sponsors. The reception is sponsored and hosted by Hayden’s Grill. Kayak Rides – Tualatin River Keepers will have kayaks available for rides in the Lake of the Commons. People will get in and out of the kayaks at the northwest portion of the commons plaza that juts out into the lake. This is an auxiliary event in association with the Crawfish Festival.

Skateboard Demonstration – Times change as do the tastes of the community. The Tualatin Crawfish Festival is proud to present a new event for the youth in our town. Exit Real World has provided us with professional skateboarders to provide demonstrations on Saturday. The skate park is located within the festival grounds at Tualatin Community Park.

TualaFest – Come out to the park to hear teenage bands from around the metro area compete for prizes and the TualaFest title. Other perks include food, henna tattoos, awesome raffle prizes and more. Oh yeah – and it’s free! Get ready to cheer for your favorite local bands!

Crawfish Crawl – The Crawfish Crawl is a 5K race/walk that starts and ends at the Tualatin Commons. This years run will take advantage of the recently opened Pedestrian Bridge that connects the Tualatin Community Park to Cook Park in Tigard. For more information go to www.runwithpaula.com.

Remote Control Boat Demonstration – This is a major R/C event in the northwest! Clubs from Seattle to Eugene attend to enjoy a great day of model ship sailing and friendly competition. Pancake Breakfast – Before the parade be sure to come down to the lake for a great breakfast to start your day. Hearty breakfast prepared by Shari's Restaurants featuring pancakes, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, and beverages. Adults $4.00, Children 6-10 years $2.00, Children 5 and under $1.00.

KidSpace – The KidSpace is always fun with a wide variety of activities and entertainment for the younger set. Activities at past festivals have included Mad Science demonstrations, inflatable rides and more. An inflatable slide, bouncers or rock wall will be located across from the main stage.

Crawdad Stage – This stage will feature family entertainment including demonstrations by local dance schools and live music acts.

"Atsa My Dawg" Show – Tualatin’s annual show and competition for man’s best friend.

The 2009 show categories are:

• Best Dressed/Costumed Dog

• Best Dog Trick (2 tricks/contestant)

• Best Looking Dog

• Frisbee Throw

Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each category.

To enter the dog show, you can fill out an entry form at the festival information booth or at the Dog Show area after 11:30 a.m.

Requirements: You can only enter a real dog and the dog must be on a leash.

Entry Fee: Only $10.00 for first entry.
$15 for two.
$18 for three.
$20 for all four categories.
“Atsa My Dawg” Show – Entry Application

Crawfish Eating Contest – You have to see this contest to believe it! How many crawfish do you think a person can eat (tail & claws) in 15 minutes? The festival record set in 1970 is a whopping 170! Registration for this event fills quickly so if you think you have what it takes to be the next Crawfish Eating Champion, contact the Tualatin Chamber office for advance sign up. Cost is $15.00 per contestant. Only ten people can pre-register. Any remaining slots will be available for signup at the information booth on Saturday morning before 11:00 am.

Food Vendors – Crawfish may be the best, but isn’t the only thing to eat. Tempt your tastebuds with a variety of foods provided by both commercial and non-profit vendors.

Marketplace Vendors – Browse a variety of vendors offering a diverse selection of goods and services to meet every taste and budget.

Haggen's Parking Lot Car Show – This will be the 6th year for this show and last year we drew 150 entrants. The day starts with car registration at 9 AM and ends with trophy presentation at 2:30 PM. There will be adult and children's raffle prizes, a silent auction, DJ music, and a benefit breakfast and lunch hosted by the Haggen store with donations to benefit Make-A-Wish. ALL proceeds from this show go to the Foundation and it has raised over $15,000 the last four years.

Quilt Show – The Tualatin Quilters present “QUILTING CLASSICS”.  The Tualatin Quilters have been a quilting cooperative since 1983.  This group of dedicated women meet twice a week all year long, spending between 6 to 10 hours a week hand stitching.  No additional admission charge but donations are encouraged.  Festival admission fees apply. A hand quilted 98” x 78.5” quilt, Daisy Chain Pattern, will be raffled off.  Raffle tickets are $2 a piece, 3 for $5, or 7 for $10 and benefit Loaves and Fishes Centers.  Located in the Senior Center from 10am-4pm.

Photo Contest – Are you the best photographer around? Prove it! Come to the festival, snap away, and share your best photos. Winning photos will be on display on the website and at the chamber throughout the year, as well as a display at the festival the following year! Category winners will be announced in the Tualatin Times following the festival. Photos can be taken at any of the various Crawfish events on August 7-9. Enter as many photos as you wish!
